Kalvach, RudolfKalvach, Rudolf, b. Vienna, Dec. 22, 1883, d. Kosmonosy (Czech Republic), March 13, 1932, graphic artist. Moved to Trieste in 1901, attended the school of arts and crafts in Vienna, became a member of the artists' group Neukunstgruppe and of the Werkbund, Österreicher and worked for the Wiener Werkstätte. Created expressive enamel paintings; his wood-engraving series "Der Hafen von Triest" is considered to be the most remarkable of his graphic works. Literature: H.
