Heine, Albert, b. Braunschweig (Germany), Nov. 16, 1867, d. Westerland (Sylt, Germany), April 13, 1949, actor, director, theatre manager. 1900-1905 and from 1910 at the Burgtheater in Vienna as an actor and from 1910 also as a director; 1918-1921 director of the Burgtheater (first performance of "Dies irae" by A. Wildgans; R. Aslan's debut as Hamlet); 1936 honorary member of the Burgtheater, 1914-1937 taught at the Vienna Academy of Music and the Performing Arts; some film engagements.
