Reichstag© Copyright The opening of the Reichstag by Archduke Johann on July 22, 1848. Coloured lithograph. Reichstag, the first democratic representation of the people in Austria after the March Revolution of 1848. The Reichstag consisted of 383 deputies from the German and Slavonic territories. It was opened on July 22, 1848 by Archduke Johann, moved to Kremsier on October 22 and dissolved on March 7, 1849.
