First marriage to the journalist Felix Winternitz, second marriage to Stefan Zweig (Zweig´s first wife); founded the American-European Friendship Association; Honorary President of the International Stefan Z. Association; became famous for her biographies of Stefan Zweig (e.g. "Stefan Z. Wie ich ihn erlebte", 1947; "Stefan Z. Eine Bildmonographie", 1961).
