Ziegler, Karl Pseudonym: CarlopagoZiegler, Karl (pen-name: Carlopago), b. St. Martin im Innkreis (Upper Austria), April 12, 1812, d. Vienna, May 20, 1877, poet. Official with the Vienna educational publishing company, went to Salzburg in 1867; his contemporaries regarded him along with R. Hamerling as the most versatile poet of the time. Works: Poems, 1843; Himmel und Erde, 1856; Oden, 1866; Vom Kothurn der Lyrik, 1869.
