Schild, Ewald, b. Vienna, May 30, 1899, d. Linz (Upper Austria), Oct. 3, 1962, biologist. Lecturer at the teacher training college of Linz, director of the research laboratory of scientific and applied microscopy at Linz, founder and head of the microbiological station at Linz, developed cuvette microscopy.
