Niedermoser, OttoNiedermoser, Otto, b. Vienna, May 5, 1903, d. Vienna, March 4, 1976, set designer and architect. Studied at the Vienna School of Arts and Crafts under J. Hoffmann and O. Strnad and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna under P. Behrens; 1924 began as a set designer at the Theater in der Josefstadt under M. Reinhardt. Head of the course for set design at the School of Applied Art. Works: 250 set designs in Austria and abroad; furnishings. - Buildings: house Woinowichgasse 28/30 in the Werkbundsiedlung housing estate, Vienna, 13th district, 1930-1932; block of flats Fischerstiege, Vienna, 1st district, 1952-1954 (with H. Petermair); restoration and extension of the Urania observatory, Vienna, 1st district, 1955-1957; structural alterations at the Theater an der Wien, 1960-1961.
