MünzkirchenMünzkirchen, Upper Austria, market town in the district of Schärding, alt. 486 m, pop. 2,522, area 21.05 km2, in the Sauwald region, northeast of Schärding. - Highway maintenance depot, day-care centre of the "Lebenshilfe" association (engaged in "life-counselling"); sportswear production, construction industry, warehouse. - Parish church with Gothic core, redecorated in Baroque style, on the Baroque high altar from 1761, Gothic statue of the Virgin (alterations), Rococo pulpit (1766); Baroque filial church of St. Sebastian (1635), enlarged 1729, with magnificent high altar (1635-1640) and Gothic crucifix (early 15th century).
