Mach; 1906 Associate Professor at the University of Innsbruck, 1908 to 1946 Professor at the Vienna University of Technology (1925/26 rector), founded the Department of Technical Physics. Research on physical and technical questions of thermodynamics and the radioactivity of Austrian spas; also conducted experiments for emanation measurements. Publications: Die atmosphär. Elektrizität, 1909 (with E. von Schweidler); Die Physik der Verbrennungserscheinungen, 1918; Einführung in die Theorie der Wärme, 1921. Literature: NDB.
