Gutheil-Schoder, Marie, b. Weimar (Germany), Feb. 16, 1874, d. Bad Ilmenau (Germany), Oct. 4, 1935, singer (soprano). Discovered by G. Mahler, 1900-1926 celebrated singer at the Vienna State Opera, numerous roles in premières of works by R. Strauss and A. Schönberg; after 1926 teacher and producer (also at the Salzburg Festival).
