Erblande, ErbländerHereditary Lands (German: Erblande, Erbländer), since the Middle Ages name used for the traditional Habsburg domains as opposed to new acquisitions, which also had different constitutional regulation. The "German hereditary lands" comprised most of the Austrian provinces (except Salzburg and Burgenland) and Carniola. In a wider sense the hereditary lands also included the Bohemian estates but not the lands of St. Stephen´s crown, Galicia, the possessions in Italy and the Austrian Netherlands. In the 19th century the term was replaced by "crownlands" ("Kronländer").
