Vienna, Jan. 24, 1958, Kammerschauspielerin; daughter of Sigmund Bleibtreu and Amalie Bleibtreu, sister of Maximiliane Bleibtreu; wife of Max Paulsen. Great tragic actress; after engagements in Germany employed at the Carltheater in Vienna 1892, after 1893 member of the Burgtheater, 1898 "Hofschauspielerin" (title awarded by the emperor), 1906 life-long contract; at first sentimental parts, then as heroines, mothers and old women; after 1923 also film roles, numerous honours and prizes. 1924 honorary member of the Burgtheater, 1930 awarded the Burgtheater Ring.
