Doppler, AdolfDoppler, Alois, b. Prague (Czech Republic), June 6, 1840, d. Kitzbühel (Tirol), July 24, 1916, railway engineer; son of Christian Doppler. Played a major role in the development of the railway network in Austria; supervised the construction of the Arlbergbahn Mountain Railway with its Arlbergtunnel and Trisanna Bridge, as well as the Brenner railway.
