Cavalieri, Katharina, b. Vienna, Feb. 19, 1760, d. Vienna, June 30, 1801, prima donna of the Vienna Hoftheater at the time of Maria Theresia and Joseph II, famous for the versatility and mobility of her voice; numerous composers wrote additional arias especially for her voice (e.g. the role of Constanze in W. A. Mozart's "The Abduction from the Seraglio").
