Walchsee


Walchsee, Tirol, municipality in the district of Kufstein, alt. 658 m, pop. 1,761, area 39.24 km2, winter and summer tourism (548,462 overnight stays in 1992), located on the northern shore of Lake Walchsee (alt. 655 m), north-east of the Zahmer Kaiser mountains. - Summer tobogganing course. - Parish church (first documented mention 1399, Baroque alterations 1626 and 1702-1704) with Gothic tower, Gothic processional cross (around 1430) and early-Historicist high altar (1855); farm with Baroque façade paintings.
