Wach, AloysWach, Aloys, b. Lambach (Upper Austria), April 30, 1892, d. Braunau (Upper Austria), April 18, 1940, painter and graphic artist. 1912-1913 at the Knirr-Sailer painting school in Munich, was associated with the artists of the "Blauer Reiter" circle. 1913-1914 in Paris, expressionist-cubist drawings, etchings and wood carvings; 1919-1920 wood carving cycle "Der verlorene Sohn". From 1920 created expressionist still-lifes, landscape paintings and portraits in Braunau, but later relinquished this style. Literature: A. W. (1892-1940), exhibition catalogue, Linz 1993.
