Ueberreuter, Carl, VerlagUeberreuter, Carl, publishing house, printing house founded by H. Carbo and A. Aquila in Vienna in 1548, oldest printing house still operating in Vienna.- Re-established in 1805 by the Ueberreuter family, since 1866 managed by the Salzer family, since 1934 also publishing house. The old printing house also produced the Krakauer Kalender (1642ff.). Re-established as publisher of children's and young people´s books after World War II, the company now belongs to the St. Matthäus Beteiligungs- und Verwaltungsges. m. b. H. family holding company. Their publishing programme ranges from books for children and young people to non-fiction and specialised books for adults. The Munich-based Annette-Betz-Verlag publishing house and the Wirtschaftsverlag Carl Ueberreuter (publisher of books on economics, with manager academy) are also part of the entrepreneurial group.
