Tiergarten HellbrunnHellbrunn Zoo was founded by the association "Salzburger Tiergarten" ("Salzburg Zoo") in 1961. A unique feature of the zoo is its location on a steep slope directly opposite the Untersberg mountain. The griffon vultures based at the zoo are allowed to range freely in the surrounding plains and mountains.
