Schießler, Sebastian Willibald (pseudonyms: F. R. Bayer, Bellvoglio, Justus Hilarius, Justina Hilaria etc.), b. Prague (Czech Republic), July 6, 1790, d. Graz (Styria), March 15, 1867, playwright, wrote poems and prose; author of edifying works for young people and of prayer books. Studied in Prague, later worked as a trainee at the field war department; 1836-1843 High Commissioner of War at Lvív, Ukraine (then Lemberg), 1843-1848 at Graz; edited the "Deutsche Schaubühne oder Dramat. Bibl. Der neuesten Lust-, Schau-, Sing- und Trauerspiele" (50 vols., 1810pp.) as well as various pocket books and almanacs ("Thalia", 2 vols., 1826/1827); also founded the first nursery school in Austria.
