Richter, Helmut


Richter, Helmut, b. Graz (Styria), June 13, 1941, architect. Studied at the University of Technology in Graz and 1969-1971 in Los Angeles. 1971-1975 professor of architecture at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts in Paris. 1977 opened an office in Vienna, 1986 lectureship at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, since 1991 professor of structural engineering at the University of Technology in Vienna. His unconventional solutions have attracted considerable attention. Awarded the A. Loos Prize for the restaurant Kiang III in Vienna.


Other works: Residential building Brunner Straße, 1986-1990; school building in Vienna's 14th district, Waidhausenstraße, 1994; residential complex Termensiedlung Oberlaa, 1997. - furniture design.
