Renowned representative of the Ringstraße era, especially talented in creating monuments and architectural sculptures; T. von Hansen often collaborated with him. Works: Architectural sculptures in Vienna: Protestant School at Karlsplatz, Opera (roof statues, now in Philadelphia), parliament, stock exchange, Musikverein, Epstein palace. - Lower Austria: Statues of the apostles, Grafenegg castle. - Tombs and monuments.
