Norische Senke


Norische Senke Depression, geological area of the Mur-Mürz Furche furrow with strikingly soft physical features, where Tertiary basins are lined up in a row from Tamsweg (province of Salzburg) via Fohnsdorf, Seckau, Leoben, Trofaiach, Aflenz, Kapfenberg, Mürztal, Waldheimat (all in Styria) to Hard bei Gloggnitz (Lower Austria). The Norische Senke Depression was an important coal mining region for a long time.
