Liefering


Liefering, province of Salzburg, north of the city of Salzburg with provincial house of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart (country estate from the 17th century, since 1889 mission house, later renovated), with "mission museum" (South Sea ethnological exhibits) founded in 1904. Late Gothic church built around Romanesque hall (probably 1st half of 12th century), prior building first documented in 790 (a small square hall from the 8th century was excavated in 1979); consecrated in 1516, renovated in 1691; along the north wall of the nave 8 panel paintings (around 1470) of late Gothic high altar. Rich farmstead, documented mention 1463, present building probably from the beginning of the 17th century.
