Kornauth, Egon, b. Olomouc, Czech Republic (then Olmütz), May 14, 1891, d. Vienna, Oct. 28, 1959, composer. 1940 Professor at the Vienna Academy of Music, 1946/1947 Deputy Director of the Salzburg "Mozarteum" College of Music. Member of the Art Senate, 1954. Wrote chiefly late Romantic chamber music. Awarded the Austrian State Prize in 1952.


Works: Chamber music, piano and orchestra music, lieder.

Literature: E. H. Müller-Asow, E. K., 1941.
