Kaunertal

Kaunertal (Kaunsertal) Valley, Tirol, southeastern side valley of the upper Inn Valley, traversed by the Fagge, a stream that rises south of the Weißseespitze mountain (3,044 m) and that flows into the River Inn at Prutz (alt. 884 m); the Gepatsch reservoir is on the upper course of the Fagge and the hydroelectric power station is at the village of Prutz. The main village of the valley is Kauns (alt. 1,050 m) near the River Inn, with the Schranz Chapel ("Kauner Cross"). The Kauner Tal Panoramic Glacier Road continues up to the Weißenseeferner glacier. In the Kaunertal valley there are also the ruins of Bernegg Castle (13th  century, Gothic chapel).
