Jungbunzlauer Ges. m. b. H.


Jungbunzlauer Ges. m. b. H., company for the production and sale of citric acid, gluconates and xanthan gum, with a factory in Pernhofen, Lower Austria. The company was founded in 1859 when I. Lederer built a distillery in Ceská Lipa (Česká Lípa, CZ); after 1867 a molasses factory was established in Mladá Boleslav (Jung Bunzlau). In 1901 the company headquarters was moved to Vienna and the Pernhofen plant purchased. Today the Jungbunzlauer Ges. m. b. H. is a subsidiary of the Basel-based company Jungbunzlauer Holding AG, which in turn is owned by Montana Industrie-Holding AG. 1993 turnover: approximately ATS 1.8 billion (87 % of this from the production of citric acid).
