Hye, Anton, Freiherr von Glunek


Hye, Anton, Baron of Glunek, b. Gleink (Upper Austria), May 26, 1807, d. Vienna, Dec. 8, 1894, law scholar. Professor at the University of Vienna, 1867 Minister of Justice and Education; supporter of the freedom of instruction and learning; in 1845 elaborated the curriculum for legal and political studies, submitted the students' petition at the Court in 1848 and contributed considerably to new legislation (press law 1849, criminal law 1852).
