Hornbostel, Theodor, * 1889Hornbostel, Theodor, b. Vienna, Jan. 9, 1889, d. Gmunden (Upper Austria), June 8, 1973, diplomat. E. Dollfuß appointed him head of the political department of the Foreign Ministry in 1933. Greatly influenced the foreign policy of the Dollfuß government. arrested and deported to the Dachau concentration camp in 1938. founded the "Forschungsinstitut für den Donauraum" (Danube Area research institute) in 1953.
