Vienna, Nov. 14, 1924, historian, adult educator, Social-Democratic politician, university professor; initiator of university lectures understandable to the layman (from 1895), and of the "Volksheim" (association for adult education) in the Ottakring district of Vienna (1901), also founded the "Athenäum" and the first conference on adult education in Vienna in 1904.
