Vienna, Oct. 1, 1921, meteorologist, brother of Franz Gustav Hann, 1877-1897 director of the Central Institute of Meteorology and Geodynamics in Vienna (Zentralanstalt für Meteorologie und Geodynamik), 1897-1900 university professor in Graz, 1900-1910 in Vienna. Founder of modern meteorology, initiator of the Sonnblick observatory. 1866-1920 editor-in-chief of the meteorology magazine "Meteorologische Zeitschrift".
