Ettingshausen, Baron Constantin von, b. Vienna, June 16, 1826, d. Graz (Styria), Feb. 1, 1897, paleobotanist, 1854-1871 professor at the Josephinum in Vienna and from 1871 in Graz; one of the founding fathers of paleobotany in Austria. collected and investigated mainly leaves of the tertiary period, used the method of natural self-pressing.
