Blumentritt, Ferdinand


Blumentritt, Ferdinand, b. Prague, Czech Republic, Sept. 10, 1853, d. Leitmeritz (Litomeřice, Czech Republic), Sept. 20, 1913, secondary school teacher and headmaster at Leitmeritz; although he never visited the Philippines, he was one of the most knowledgeable students of Philippine affairs of his time. Personal friend of the Philippine national hero José Rizal (correspondence).
