Bermann, Moritz (pseudonyms: Berthold Mormann, Moritz B. Zimmermann, Louis Mühlfeld, Julius Marlott), b. Vienna, March 16, 1823, d. Vienna, June 11, 1895, writer, art and autograph dealer. 1853 published the "Österreichisches Biographisches Lexikon"("Austrian Biographical Encyclopaedia"), of which only the first volume went into print, and 1863 the first popular history of Vienna.


Works: Alt-Wien in Geschichten und Sagen für die reifere Jugend, 1865 and 1882; Die Geheimnisse des Praters, 1874; Alt- und Neu-Wien, 1880. - historical novels, stories, and descriptions of the times.
