Baumgartner, Johann BaptistBaumgartner, Johann Baptist, b. Vienna, 1710, d. Vienna, Sept 29, 1773, Capuchin, painter. From 1739 student at the Vienna Academy, from 1772 member of the Academy. Painted various altar panels for churches in Austria and Hungary. As a member of the Capuchin Order he took the name Brother Norbert. The Capuchin Monastery in Vienna houses several of his works.
