Bacher, Rudolf, b. Vienna, Jan. 20, 1862, d. Vienna, April 16, 1945, painter and sculptor, co-founder of the movement known as the Vienna Secession (1897). 1903-1939 professor at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts, teacher of J. Dobrowsky and R. H. Eisenmenger.


Works: mainly portraits and landscapes, religious themes.
