Adneter KalkAdnet Limestone, often wrongly called "Adnet marble", stone formation of the northern lime Alps, very rich in fossils (including Ammonites), formed around 200m years ago in the early Jurassic period, named after Adnet (province of Salzburg), has been extracted from several quarries since the Middle Ages and has been used as decorative stone in numerous secular and non-secular buildings, esp. in the town of Salzburg.
