Haydn and L. Mozart. Lived in Vienna from 1795, where he was greatly admired as a pianist (piano competitions with L. van Beethoven). Went to Paris in 1801, to London in 1805, where he also worked as a teacher. Works: 9 works for the stage, 7 piano concertos, 2 symphonies, piano and chamber music, songs.
