Wiener Holding AGWiener Holding AG, founded in 1974 under the name of Wiener Allgemeine Beteiligungs- und Verwaltungsgesellschaft m. b. H., integrating all private investments of the City of Vienna, present name since 1983. In 1989, 49 % of shares in banks and insurance companies were sold, the majority was sold to the Zentralsparkasse (AVZ) share administration in 1993. After that most of the commercial enterprises were set up as independent units. The Wiener Holding AG includes culture- and leisure-oriented enterprises: Vereinigte Bühnen Wien Ges. m. b. H., Wiener Stadthalle, Schloß Laxenburg Betriebsgesellschaft, Jewish Museum of the City of Vienna, Wiener Veranstaltungsservice, the Wiental Sammelkanal Gesellschaft and the Haus Döbling students´ hostel. The Wiener Holding AG manages several businesses for the City of Vienna and Bank Austria AG, including Kabel-TV-Wien, Wiener Porzellanmanufaktur Augarten Ges. m. b. H., the Entsorgungsbetriebe Simmering animal carcase disposal company, GEWISTA Werbegesellschaft, GESIBA Gemeinnützige Siedlung und Bauaktiengesellschaft, Wiener Hafen Gesellschaft, Wiener Hafen und Lager Ausbau- und Vermögensverwaltungsgesellschaft and Wiener Hafen Lager- und Umschlagsbetriebe Gesellschaft (Wiener Hafen). In 1999 the Wiener Hafen AG achieved a total turnover of ATS 4.9 billion with 1,968 employees.
