Wacker, RudolfWacker, Rudolf, b. Bregenz (Vorarlberg), Feb. 25, 1893, d. Bregenz, April 19, 1939, painter and graphic artist. From 1921 worked in Berlin. Initially influenced by expressionism then turned more to New Objectivity (realistic representation of forms in traditional technique). Painted mainly still-lifes, landscapes and portraits. From 1924 lived in Bregenz again; 1925 founding member of the artists´ society "Der Kreis". Literature: R.
