Thun-Hohenstein, AdelsgeschlechtThun-Hohenstein, noble family originally from the Southern Tyrol; 1618-1648, Counts of Hohenstein (Germany). Their family seat was at Nonsberg, held estates in Bohemia from the 17th century; became barons in 1495, imperial counts in 1629 and Austrian princes in 1911. Prominent members of the family included Prince Franz Anton Thun-Hohenstein, Count Guidobald Thun-Hohenstein, Count Johann Ernst Thun-Hohenstein, Count Leo Thun-Hohenstein and Paul Thun-Hohenstein.
