Thumb, Baumeisterfamilie


Thumb, family of master builders (Baroque) from Bezau (Vorarlberg). They worked from the mid-17th century to the 19th century in Vorarlberg, Switzerland and Southern Germany. Together with the Beer and the Moosbrugger families, they are regarded as representatives of the Vorarlberg School of building. The brothers Christian Thumb and Michael Thumb, as well as Michael Thumb´s son, Peter Thumb are the family´s most acclaimed members.
