Teimer, Martin Rochus, Freiherr von Wildau


Teimer, Baron Martin Rochus, von Wildau, b. Schlanders/Silandro (South Tyrol), Aug. 14, 1778, d. Herbersdorf (municipality of Allerheiligen bei Wildon, Styria), Sept. 27, 1838, military officer. As confidant of Archduke Johann travelled several times to Tirol in order to plan the rebellion of 1809 and together with A. Hofer signed the call-to-arms against Napoleon. Was commander in the Northern parts of Tirol and Vinschgau/Val Venosta (South Tyrol); participated in the 1st and 3rd Bergisel battles, left Tirol with the last Austrian troops in July 1809.
