Member of the circle of poets "Jung-Wien", friend of A. Schnitzler; worked for the Viennese journal "Wiener Illustriertes Extrablatt" and other newspapers, from 1910 with R. Batka editor of the magazine "Der Merker". Leading music journalist of his time, strong supporter of G. Mahler ("Gustav Mahler", 1905); 1925 professor at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.
