Skoda, Albin, b. Vienna, Sept. 29, 1909, d. Vienna, Sept. 22, 1961, actor, Kammerschauspieler. 1924-1928 at the Vienna Volkstheater, 1934-1945 at the German Theater in Berlin, 1938 also at the Theater in der Josefstadt in Vienna, 1946-1961 one of the principal leading actors of the Vienna Burgtheater (honorary member); played parts of the classic and modern repertoire, excellent speaker (metallic voice), engaged in festivals, radio and film. 1971 Margarethe S., widow of A. S., established the foundation of the A.-S. ring to be awarded to the best elocutionist in the German-speaking countries (1973 to W. Quadflieg, 1977 to P. Hoffmann, 1983 to E. Meister, 1988 to F. Morak, 2001 to P. Matić).
