Salzburger Becken


Salzburg Basin, central region formed in the Ice Age in the Flachgau region, bordered to the south by the Untersberg Mountain, to the east by the Osterhorngruppe Mountains (with Gaisberg Mountain). The plain on which the city of Salzburg is located is studded with a number of hills - Kapuzinerberg, Mönchsberg, Rainberg and Hellbrunnerberg. The Salzburg Basin connects the valleys of the River Salzach, the River Saalach and the River Alm.
