Rudolfinische Hausordnung - Ruprecht, Heiliger (6/25)
Rüegg, Mathias Rugier

Ruf, Der

Ruf, Der, magazine of early Austrian expressionism, published in Vienna by the Academic Association for Literature and Music; the five issues published in 1912-1913 provided an important forum for the avant-garde movement. In his essays, E. Mühsam spoke out against bourgeois society, R. Müller invoked a heroic era full of vitality. From a literary point of view the publication distinguished itself by employing everyday language usage in its writings. O. Kokoschka, G. Klimt, E. Schiele and M. Jung contributed many of the illustrations.

Literature: C. E. Schorske, Wien, Geist und Gesellschaft im Fin de siècle, 1982.
