Popp, Lucia, b. Uhorska Ves (Slovakia), Nov. 12, 1939, d. Munich (Germany), Nov. 16, 1993, Kammersängerin* (soprano). Debut 1963 in Bratislava, shortly afterwards engagement at the Vienna State Opera, where she stayed until her death. Sang also in Salzburg, Munich and London. Acknowledged especially for her interpretations of Mozart and Strauss; numerous records.
