Innsbruck (Tyrol), Nov. 15, 1900, writer and natural scientist. Participated in the 1848 revolution, 1867-1890 university professor of mineralogy and geology in Innsbruck. Wrote remarkably realistic stories about his home country and was the founder of research on popular acting in Tyrol. Edition: Gesammelte Werke, 17 vols., published by S. M.
