Important representative of Romanticism; in a usually cubic style, often tending towards a massive heaviness, created buildings inspired by both classicist and neo-Gothic elements for members of the Habsburg family and the high nobility mainly in Northern Italy, Vienna and Hungary. Works: Vienna: reconstruction of the Modena palace (now Ministry of the Interior), 1814; Arthaber-Wertheimstein Villa, 1835; building of the "Erste österreichische Spar-Casse" (Erste Bank), 1835; extension of the "Niederösterreichisches Landhaus", 1848. - Palaces: Kistapolcány (Topol´cianky, Slovekia), 1825; Nagygróc (Vel´ke Uhercé, Slovekia). - Parish churches: Enying (Hungary), 1841; Jolsva (Jelsava, Slovakia), 1849.
