OetzOetz, Tirol, municipality in the district of Imst, alt. 812 m, pop. 2,060, area 29.19 km2, bi-seasonal tourist resort (344,239 overnight stays), located in the outer Ötztal valley at the foot of Acherkogel mountain (alt. 3,007 m); favourable climate (formerly viniculture). - Recreation centre, Stuibenbach power plant. - Parish church in late Gothic style (extensions in 1667, Baroque alterations in the interior in 1743/1744), in the crypt, altar with a painting of St. Michael (1683), carvings and statues; St. Anthony´s Church in Baroque style in Au; Calvary chapel (end of 17th century); inn with decorative facade paintings (1573); old farmsteads typical of the Upper Inn Valley. Local heritage museum, art gallery ("Galerie zum alten Oetztal"). In the vicinity, Lake Piburg, Auer Klamm gorge, Stuibenfall waterfall, waterfall at Tumpenbach stream. Literature: E.
